A Hat Trick of Sorts

In my last post, I wrote about my last visit here with friends for Brunch. My intention was to return and try 75 on Courthouse Square for dinner. It turns out I left my hat in the restaurant so I returned one evening this past week.

Working in Waltham, the drive into Boston is very simple and one could argue a nice alternate commute from my usual cruise along route 128. The drive door-to-door took me about 15 minutes. I located a parking spot in a garage in the Vertex building – a block from the restaurant. It was so quick I arrived before the restaurant opened for dinner.

I was the first and only patron and decided to sit at the bar. The bartender, Sam, was gracious and happy to have a conversation with me. He made one of my favorite drinks, the Negroni, perfectly! I decided to start my dinner with a bowl of Herbed Clam Chowder. It was served in a square bowl and it was full of clams, perfectly cooked Maine potatoes, and full of rich flavor.

The bartender recommended the Steak & Avocado Salad which looked good until I saw it has blue cheese (allergic), instead I decided on the Chicken & Spring Salad. The salad served with perfectly grilled chicken breast, with the salad in the corner consisting of Italian prosciutto, baby arugula, fresh figs, radishes, asparagus, roasted pecans, goat cheese, crispy polenta and citrus vinaigrette.

Another great dining experience, nice conversation with the bar tender and wait staff. The restaurant started to pick up as I was leaving. I will return and maybe catch a movie upstairs in the upscale cinema called the Showplace ICON Theatre located on the third level at 60 Seaport Blvd.
