Tiger Blood Margarita Bacon Wrapped Scallops Seafood Risotto
McKay’s Public House
For my last night in Bar Harbor, I chose to have dinner outside in the front garden of McKay’s on Main Street. An inviting place, with beautiful deep red umbrellas, gas fired heaters, all present a great atmosphere for dining. The restaurant presented a nicely printed menu offering many daily specials from the bar and kitchen. I enjoyed the following.
From the bar, I ordered the Tiger Blood Margarita. The menu listed the drink as - Hot Thai Chili Pepper infused tequila, Pom Juice, Fresh squeezed lime juice and orange Liqueur. It listed a warning on the menu: “Warning Not for the faint of heart… very spicy!!”
For an appetizer, I ordered the bacon wrapped local scallops – finished with a spiced honey sauce
For my entre I ordered the Seafood Risotto – Local scallops & petite shrimp in a lemon truffle risotto with peas, parmesan, a bit of cream, and diced tomatoes. There was an option which I passed, to add Lobster.
