It’s true! On a recent visit to IKEA, as much as I looked forward to walking through the showroom, equally so, I looked forward to my Swedish Meatballs! It’s hard for me to visit an IKEA without stopping at their restaurant. The restaurant is set up like a cafeteria. You get in line, grab a tray and start through the displays of food. For some reason, IKEA presents their deserts first. Next the healthy items, salads, sandwiches, juices and the like. Turn the corner and it’s on to the hot entrees, from grilled salmon to “my” meatballs including many side options. Rounding towards the cashier, there is a display of garlic bread, the size of Texas toast! The people working there are very pleasant and helpful. You won’t go away hungry, and you won’t have to empty your wallet. The dining area is tastefully IKEA! One wall is entirely glass, floor to ceiling so lots of natural sunlight. There's even a section for the kids with a television. Back to my Swedish meatballs. I chose the 15 (medium) there is also a 20, and I think 10. Yes, they count out the number of meatballs - a little odd but it works. I forgo the assortment of vegetable options not wanting to bump tradition - choosing mashed potatoes with gravy. And it wouldn't be complete without the Lingonberry jam (think cranberry and you're close). It all just goes so well together! I finished my meal with a slice of IKEA apple pie. For this post, I'm referring to the IKEA Store/Restaurant in Stoughton, MA. I've been to other IKEAs across the country all offering the same quailty and variety.
